Ofcourse We Do

Today WordPress prompts me with this question: Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

To which my answer is : Ofcourse We Do.

Food and Wine Pairing

An important step in anyone’s wine journey is when you experience for the first time, the magic of the food and wine pairing. For me this happened in the very first wine event I attended, which was about ten years back in an Italian Wine Dinner at Hotel Westin Gurugram, India.

Amongst the many dishes their Italian chef had prepared, one was the succulent sea bass. After a few chews on it, just as I took a sip of the paired Chardonnay, a delicious magic occurred on my palate – it was such a pleasurable culinary sensation that I can’t forget. The pairing of the rich and cheesy sea bass pairing perfectly with the opulent Chardonnay wine was so delightful that in an instant it revealed to me as how divine a good food and wine pairing can be.

As a family, another revelation happened once we realised that we can make dishes which can pair nicely with wines, at home itself. And since then we have been doing that regularly. Some of these are also documented in my earlier posts and I share a couple of those here. Hope you like reading these.

My wine journey started in 2013 and I soon earned my WSET certifications in quick succession. At same time I started with writing on wines on my blog page and also got opportunities to write for renowned wine magazines in India. I’ve also written a couple of research papers on Indian wine industry. Presently I’m also tenanting the position of the President Delhi Wine Club. I’m on panel of Judges in International Wine Challenge (London) and Michelangelo Wine and Spirits Awards (South Africa). I believe in the tagline : Wine Connects.
