Champagne – a taste of contradictions

“It takes poor soil to make good Champagne; black grapes to make white wine; a blind man saw stars; the man accredited with putting bubbles in Champagne actually worked most of his life to keep them out”

(Excerpts from the book titled ‘Champagne’)

These are ironies which prompted a writer to call Champagne as ‘a taste of contradictions’

And these contradictions (alongwith the challenging and chequered history of the region), are precisely what make the Champagne as the greatest sparkling wine of the world !!

Which is your favourite Champagne ?

My wine journey started in 2013 and I soon earned my WSET certifications in quick succession. At same time I started with writing on wines on my blog page and also got opportunities to write for renowned wine magazines in India. I’ve also written a couple of research papers on Indian wine industry. Presently I’m also tenanting the position of the President Delhi Wine Club. I’m on panel of Judges in International Wine Challenge (London) and Michelangelo Wine and Spirits Awards (South Africa). I believe in the tagline : Wine Connects.
