Honouring Excellence in Hospitality – A Wineglitz India Series: Karan Veer Singh

Hospitality is about much more than fine food, exceptional wines and elegant surroundings – it is about people. Behind every memorable dining experience and every flawlessly executed event are professionals whose dedication, passion and commitment often remain behind the scenes.

Over the past decade, my journey in wine has given me the privilege of interacting with chefs, sommeliers, restaurant managers, public relations professionals, importers and many other remarkable individuals across the hospitality industry, both in India and abroad. While guests often remember the cuisine, the wines or the ambience, it is these professionals who quietly create those memorable experiences.

Through this Wineglitz India series, I wish to recognise and honour outstanding hospitality professionals whose professionalism, integrity and pursuit of excellence have earned my admiration. I am delighted to begin this series with Karan Veer Singh.

The Beginning of Our Association

I have known Karan for many years, although our initial interactions were largely confined to wine tastings and hospitality events. Our professional association truly began when, as Founder of Wineglitz India, I organised a wine dinner with him at San Gimignano, The Imperial, New Delhi. He was then the F&B Manager at The Imperial (Now he is the Director F&B). The evening was a resounding success and laid the foundation for many memorable collaborations that followed.

Over the years, Karan has built an impressive career in luxury hospitality, gaining valuable experience across leading hotel brands before joining The Imperial. His passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences are reflected in the professionalism he brings to every responsibility.

The Qualities That Set Him Apart

One of the qualities I admire most about Karan is his clarity and honesty in communication. He believes in addressing matters openly, with professionalism and respect, fostering an environment of trust and mutual understanding. Having worked with him on several occasions, I have found that this approach not only strengthens professional relationships but also contributes significantly to the seamless planning and successful execution of every event.

Equally admirable is his unwavering commitment to excellence. Whether planning a wine dinner or overseeing the finest operational details, he approaches every responsibility with dedication, composure and meticulous attention to detail. His calm demeanour inspires confidence and makes working with him both productive and enjoyable.

Another quality that distinguishes Karan is his ability to build and nurture lasting professional relationships. He understands that exceptional hospitality is built on teamwork and mutual respect. Whether interacting with chefs, service staff, suppliers, importers, wine professionals or guests, he brings people together with a collaborative spirit that ensures every event is delivered to the highest standards.

Perhaps what I appreciate most is his consistency. Irrespective of the scale of an event or the people involved, he approaches every responsibility with the same sincerity, professionalism and positive attitude. These are qualities that earn respect, inspire confidence and define true hospitality professionals.

Looking Ahead

At Wineglitz India, we extend our heartfelt best wishes to Karan Veer Singh for continued success in his professional journey. His professionalism, integrity and commitment to excellence make him a valued colleague and a true ambassador of hospitality. We look forward to collaborating on many more successful projects together and wish him every success in the years ahead.
