The Wines and Travels of Thomas Jefferson

What book are you reading right now?

Passions: The Wines and Travels of Thomas Jefferson – A longish name but the book itself is a gripping one and hooks you from the start. Thomas Jefferson was the fourth President of the United States, and interestingly he is also considered the Father of American Wine.

A captivating book

Frankly it’s not the first time I’m reading or referring to this captivating wine travelogue, since so often re-read extracts from it to fuel my own passions of wine travel. Here’s an article I wrote on this earlier:

Although Jefferson undertook his fascinating wine journey across the wine regions of France about 200 years ago, but it is still so relevant. You can refer it even today if you are planning a wine travel similar to his. In fact, some wine enthusiasts try to follow exactly the same wine route on which Jefferson traversed (and I’m one of them) and if you do this, then you can also find atleast one of inns/ traverse where he stayed for the night – how fabulous is that?

If that catches your imagination then do order this book today itself and I’m sure it will instil a lot of imagination and wonder. And don’t be surprised if your inner voice starts nudging you to plan a similar wine journey.

Till then, Cheers !!

My wine journey started in 2013 and I soon earned my WSET certifications in quick succession. At same time I started with writing on wines on my blog page and also got opportunities to write for renowned wine magazines in India. I’ve also written a couple of research papers on Indian wine industry. Presently I’m also tenanting the position of the President Delhi Wine Club. I’m on panel of Judges in International Wine Challenge (London) and Michelangelo Wine and Spirits Awards (South Africa). I believe in the tagline : Wine Connects.
